Despite rising interest rates and the end of a monarch’s reign, our lawyers still managed to get Out & About in 2022!  Take a look at some of our engagements:

Murray Barnes Finister sponsored the Women in Local Government Workshop of the Georgia City County Management Association’s Fall 2022 conference.  The conference was held at Jekyll Island October 11-14, 2022.

Roger Murray attended and served as a panelist for the October 2-5, 2022 conference of the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association.  The panel tackled the basics of debt issuance in the context of “The Great Retirement.”

Mae Charles Barnes and Terri Finister led the securities law session of Georgia Tech’s Annual Bond Compliance Training on September 13, 2022.  The annual event provides continuing education to officers and employees of Georgia Tech and its affiliated organizations.

Roger Murray served as the moderator for the economic development panel of the ACCG County Attorney’s Section Seminar held on April 28, 2022.   The seminar was held in conjunction with ACCG’s 2022 annual conference entitled “Above & Beyond.”  Murray Barnes Finister also sponsored the event.

Mae Charles Barnes was a speaker at the bi-annual economic development law seminar sponsored by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.  The seminar was held on March 30, 2022 at the State Bar of Georgia.  The session explored “Fundamentals and Refreshers Regarding Tax Exempt Financing.”

Mae Charles Barnes participated as a panelist for the Georgia Education Advancement Council’s annual conference at Brasstown Valley Resort.  The panel included public finance professionals who discussed their insights and current market trends specifically related to the public private venture program administered by the University System of Georgia.  GEAC fosters and supports higher education advancement professionals in the State of Georgia.
